If you had asked Dalton Timmis Insurance’s admin employees what their worst nightmare was two years ago, we bet you would have heard one thing!

Before introducing the Mitrefinch time and attendance system, Dalton Rimmis Insurance, based in Ancaster, Ontario were snowed under by ever-growing amounts of Microsoft Word documents and awfully long Excel spreadsheets.
They used them to track employee health, attendance and vacation. According to the company’s Controller, Ms Tara Carruthers, this was a cumbersome process and a better way to track overtime and vacations was sought.
Employees at Dalton Timmis were taking long lunches, arriving at work late and there was a lot of abuse of the system taking place. It was recognised that the Mitrefinch Time Management System (TMS) and corresponding web module, TMS.NET would offer a huge time saving for managers at Dalton Timmis Insurance. Our implementers built the system according to consultation with Dalton Timmis Insurance and special reports were set up as requested.
Following a smooth implementation and good installation of the system on site, TMS now caters for 95 employees via four biometric clocking terminals.
Since then, the system has brought many benefits to Dalton Timmis Insurance. Vacation tracking has been introduced and Ms Carruthers reports that, “employees love this feature!” She was also delighted to hear that we offer free software upgrades as part of the contract and was very impressed with the stability of the system.
All in all, Ms Carruthers estimates that managers at the firm have saved approximately 200 hours per year, which was previously spent emailing employees and dealing manually with vacation requests, which translates into significant savings in operational costs.
