 Robinson Paperboard Packaging use TMS to manage their Annualised Hours system
Based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Robinson Paperboard Packaging is a part of a group of privately-owned, customer-orientated, manufacturing companies including Robinson Paperboard Packaging and Robinson Plastic Packaging. The company specialises in manufacturing environmentally friendly packaging for retail products.
Eight years ago, Robinson Paperboard Packaging decided to upgrade its manual clocking system to Mitrefinch's TMS. The company was in the process of moving all of its 150 staff to an annualised hours system and needed a time and attendance system that could manage the detailed records required and arrange for weekly payrolls.
Annualised hours are an efficient way to manage a company's human resources processes, reducing overtime and helping to plan for busy or quiet periods more effectively. As the system is becoming increasingly popular in many industries, companies are searching for new ways of fulfilling their complex HR needs.
Stuart Yates, Analyst Programmer at the company, explains: "We use the system on a daily basis to review clockings and authorise anomalies. The system easily accommodates the demands of our new annualised hours system and gives us improved control of working time and shift patterns.
"We have found TMS to be far more effective than our previous manual system and it is easy to manage, with a wealth of information available at the press of a button. We also use the information captured by TMS for calculating wages and transfer the working hours data directly to the payroll department. This has saved us a considerable amount of time."
Robinson Paperboard Packaging also use the Report Writer facility, Stuart explains: "The reports in TMS have proved very useful to use, not only do we use many of the featured reports included in the system but have also created a selection of reports to cater for our specific needs."
