ITT Industries, IncITT Industries uses TMS to calculate hours worked and export those to payroll.

ITT Industries, Inc. is a global engineering and manufacturing company which supplies pumps, systems and services to move and control water and other fluids.

ITT Industries also produces connectors, switches, keypads and cabling used in telecommunications, computing, aerospace and industrial applications, as well as network services. Based in White Plains, New York, ITT Industries employs approximately 35,000 people around the world.

The Company has over 500 employees at its UK site in Basingstoke and until 1999 it used a DOS based system to manage its time and attendance requirements. Following a review of the products available ITT made the decision to replace this system with a package that could offer a wider range of benefits, whilst improving efficiency at the same time.

Julie Barron, Payroll and Accounts Assistant at ITT Industries, says: "As a growing company it was becoming evident that there were limitations to our DOS system. Following a demonstration from Mitrefinch, we selected the TMS system because of its ease of use and additional functionality.

"At ITT we have a large number of administrators who require access to the system and it was crucial that the new system was quick to understand and easy to pick up, and the Mitrefinch system has proved to be exactly that!"

The system covers around 375 office and factory workers at the Basingstoke site.

Each employee has a personalised ID card which is used to clock-in and out at the end of the day. New employees are added easily.

Julie continues: "Our system administrators find that the wealth of management information at their fingertips helps them to perform their tasks more efficiently than the previous system would allow. Overtime can be easily authorised and sickness reports highlight missing certificates which require further action."

ITT uses TMS to capture and calculate hours worked and overtime accrued which is exported twice a month into the Company's payroll system.

Weekly exception and docking reports are generated and administrators take responsibility for their own department.

Julie concludes: "TMS has helped us to update our time and attendance functions, providing better management reporting and a better level of support for our employees."
