Callender Aeropart uses TMS< HR Manager and Flexipay Payroll
Callender Aeropart is a subcontract engineering company which manufactures precision components for global, high-integrity industries such as aerospace and power generation.
The Lancashire-based company installed the SSI Tropos system in 2000 and required a time and attendance system that would be compatible with this.
SSI recommended its best of breed partner in the field of employee management software, York-based Mitrefinch.
Mitrefinch's time and attendance solution, provides businesses with an easy-to-use system which allows for the accurate planning and recording of shifts, working hours, holidays and absences.
Callender's IT Manager Gerard Swinson says: "When we reviewed the Mitrefinch system it was clear that it provided a good level of fit with the ERP system, and offered a number of significant benefits to both company and staff.
"We wanted a system that would be flexible, with the scope to help us to respond to changing customer requirements."
In 2002, Callender installed the Mitrefinch Flexipay Payroll system, which uses data exported from TMS time and attendance to accurately and efficiently calculate wages, freeing up the time of the payroll department for other tasks.
In 2003, Callender specified Mitrefinch's HR Manager package.
Callender's HR Manager David Foley says: "Mitrefinch's HR Manager gives us a common electronic database that provides good management information, including details about pay, wages, attendance and personal staff details.
"The system saves us a considerable amount of time as the improved level of information now available negates the need for managers to contact the HR department with personnel queries."
The systems have been further upgraded in 2003 with the addition of the TMS Web Module, which allows employees to access their personal data via the company Intranet whilst protecting the privacy of others. Staff can also use the module to request holidays and shift changes electronically reducing the need for paper slips.
Gerard Swinson concludes: "The system has been well received by staff and the new web module has further enhanced this to great effect. All of our shop floor staff have access to a terminal and appreciate the ability to review their own attendance records and request leave online and receive prompt feedback from supervisors. Together the systems have exceeded our expectations."
