Factors Group of Nutritional Companies Inc.
Factors Group was frustrated with the fact that their old time & attendance tracking system no longer met their needs and was crashing daily. When Karen Joy set about to upgrade their systems, she put customization of reports and the ongoing cost of operation at the top of her list, while Managers put security at the field level, ease of use and functionality on theirs.
In April 2011, they went live with Mitrefinch systems - Time & Attendance, HR Management, and .NET - a self-service option to allow employees to plan and/or track their vacation time and other entitlements online. The company also decided to move from hand-punch readers to Biometric Fingerprint Timeclocks to ensure the most time-efficient clocking methods for each of their employees.
When Karen was asked what she sees as the benefits of having a Mitrefinch system in their company, she replied, “Managers, Human Resources, Payroll, Directors and Supervisors all have only one place to go instead of several for employee data, and we have been able to add new panels in the system for training, benefits, performance review, inventory, safety, medical claims, etc.”
Feedback has been very positive – Karen says staff feels more self-sufficient because the implementation went smoothly. It is easy to get Managers and Supervisors to buy-in to the new processes when it is so easy to export hours to the payroll system, and training is no more than 30 minutes each, one-on-one.
Now the Supervisors and Managers are asking for less help from the payroll staff and thinks Silverlight is easy to use. The HR Department is excited with how much information they can put into TMS and are finding more ways to keep organized. They feel most of their needs have been met and are pleased that the system can be further customized as time goes on.
Karen added, “ I love how easy it is to work with our over 100 users and create a panel for any one of them, which adds more value to what they need to keep track of and do. Yes, I wish I knew of Mitrefinch over 4 years ago.”
