the Mitrefinch Time Management System (TMS) proved most user-friendly of all the time and attendance systems considered
Based in Downsview, Ontario, Experchem Laboratories Inc. is a Health Canada and FDA certified testing facility providing comprehensive solutions primarily to pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries.
Back in 2006, Experchem decided to replace their outdated, paper-based time and attendance system, as it was too time-consuming for the payroll coordinator. According to IT coordinator, Michael Wiffen, the Mitrefinch Time Management System (TMS) proved most user-friendly of all the time and attendance systems considered and Experchem liked the option to use a biometric reader. There then followed a straight-forward implementation: Mr. Wiffen remembers that “The Mitrefinch implementers made sure I knew what they needed and I had it all ready for them when they arrived.”
The Mitrefinch system has succeeded in meeting Experchem’s requirements. The company pay roll is now a straightforward procedure and can be run from one centralised location. Managers and supervisors on site can now see who has reported for work in real time. In addition, as the IT coordinator, Mr. Wiffen is “able to make sure all employees are out of the building so I can run reports.”
TMS has proved very popular across the board at Expercham Laboratories Inc. The employees love using TMS.NET to check up on their own work records, whilst managers use the system to schedule shifts to cover upcoming employee vacations.
The system gives different levels of access to staff. The receptionist is able to see who is in the building with one click of the button and supervisors are able to see who has arrived late.
All in all, the TMS has given greater control to managers throughout the company.
