In 2008, Baycoat Limited decided to upgrade its time and attendance system. At the time, the company was using a mainframe system with the hours and absences populated by data entry from timecards and timesheets. Two employees were required half time each to complete the data entry and verify the records, which was very labour intensive. Baycoat Limited sought a new, more efficient system which could also show who was onsite at any given time, increasing employee safety.
According to HR Manager, Kathy Lefroy, Baycoat Limited was attracted to Mitrefinch Limited by a combination of factors – the impressive functionality of the Mitrefinch system, the integrated report writer and the price of the system in particular.
Baycoat Limited opted to buy the integrated Mitrefinch Time Management System (TMS), HR Manager and TMS.NET employee self-service module. The integrated system now caters to the permanent and temporary staff, automating their timekeeping for greater ease of payroll processing. After some initial resistance to the new system, many employees now appreciate the advantages of having access to their own work and attendance records.
The TMS has proved flexible and Ms. Lefroy has been able to customise both the system and its reports to better suit the companies needs. Timekeeping errors have been significantly reduced because employees have been able to view their own work records and therefore advise of any inconsistencies before they reach payroll.
Overall, Ms. Lefroy has been happy with the system and is convinced that she will support continuing to use Mitrefinch in the future.
